Eye contact is the most powerful mode of establishing a communicative link between humans. Neuro analysis shows elevated levels of brain activity when two individuals are in a mutual gaze, which is arguably the major foundation for all social skills. Locking eyes with someone is more then merely a sight; its a connection between two beings, an acknowledgment of mutual existence. A moment that only you and the other person consciously exist in. Every subject is a complete stranger, i get only one shot because every photograph in this series is taken at the second the subjects eyes meet my own through my cameras viewfinder. Pressing the shutter i capture a raw representation of each individual at that moment in time. I seek out and find individuals those of which i choose to share moments with. I observe them as they observe me one second at a time.
This is not a study of people; this is a study of people studying people.
